Lead Maritime Engineer

Location : Australia

Job Purpose:

• You will be degree-qualified and a Chartered Engineer for this long-term appointment. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years engineering experience. You will be accountable for significant and complex activities or projects. This will require you to be responsible for predicting and planning future resources.

• You will also lead and/or be part of a large multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to mentor and develop junior members of staff and liaise with our clients ensuring technical excellence and compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards.

Our collaborative approach is applied to both the needs of staff and clients to achieve the best outcome.

Role:

• Undertaking masterplanning and engineering design for maritime structures.

• project management and construction supervision on a wide range of global maritime projects.

• Managing the production of drawings and reports and preparing co-ordinating specifications.

• Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines.

• Attending meetings and communicating with clients to establish their needs.

• Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.

• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified and have achieved professional qualification.

• Extensive experience in the field of maritime design and experience across a range of medium to large scale projects.

• Be able to design and deliver maritime engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects.

• Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects.

• Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects.

• Able to quickly develop successful client relationships.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential.

• Excellent planning and organisational skills.

• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal).

• Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness
